Façade elements with wide spans, lightweight and modular building technology as well as flexibility are in demand when planning façades. In the age of practised environmental protection energy conservation additionally plays a central role. Thermal insulation values and solar gain are of prime importance. Light translucent façade concepts should contribute to use the natural daylight and to reduce the expense for lighting.
Conventional façade systems and materials quickly reach their limits. The Butzbach façade system VARIOPLANplus on the other hand unifies all the positive properties of previous façade systems in one system. The basis of VARIOPLANplus is fibreglass: a composite material that Butzbach has been manufacturing in a self-developed method for over 30 years and has consistently improved. The high level of translucence of the fibreglass twin-walled panels allows light far into the interior of the room – the natural daylight is strewn evenly throughout the room without glare and without hard shadows. Harmful UV-radiation is completely absorbed. Due to the high level of translucence of the fibreglass twin-walled panels light-flooded working environments are created considerably reducing the lighting and energy expenses. Aside from the savings, natural daylight creates a good work atmosphere, the efficiency is increased and the job performance is optimised. Illuminating the fibreglass elements from the interior at night creates an architectural highlight.
VARIOPLANplus is a progressive solution, with a completely thermally separated profile system and good thermal and acoustic insulation values of the twin-walled fibreglass panels. While large window fronts heat inside areas quickly, VARIOPLANplus provides a pleasant and well-balanced working temperature in all buildings.
The high-tech material fibreglass combines highest stability with elasticity – therefore making free span elements possible with disturbing supporting constructions. VARIOPLANplus, weighing only about one third of normal window panes, can be adapted to any constructive situation and is particularly suitable for renovation tasks, where the supporting structure of the building does not allow too much vertical load effect. There are no special requirements on the respectively load-bearing construction, which saves expenditures for planning, for material for the supporting construction and for installation. Mobile elements as well as unusual constructive angles or even ceilings are easily achievable, the architectural options are unlimited. The twin-walled fibreglass panels are closed on all sides and as such, vertical as well as horizontal façade variants can be accommodated without any difficulty – a rare characteristic.
Different fibreglass and profile colour variants allow a large variety of combinations in the constructional elements. Angular or round façade elements can also be realised without difficulty. By combining doors and pass doors of the same material, excellently matching the façade in function and optics, a homogeneous, monolithic façades can be created.
