Modern door for historical ships
The paddle wheel steamer “Ludwig Fessler”, built in 1926, is the pride of the Chiemsee-Schifffahrt fleet. For the winter season resp. for maintenance purposes a new hall was needed for the saloon ship. The innovative Butzbach system gives the front side of the shipyard building an especially distinctive appearance. The combination of stacking door and hinged doors to the right and left, allow a complete opening of the hall over its entire width. The adjoining upper fibreglass façade fits perfectly to the hinged doors, which are also in the colour brilliant. An interesting colour accent is achieved with the eight meter high stacking door SPACELITE HT 60 H in the colour emerald-green. Aside from this door system, further façade elements as well as two stacking doors SPACELITE HT 40 were installed, letting the building appear striking at night due to the translucence and creating a pleasant bright interior in the daytime due to the light transmission. The water-permeable grilles at the door bottom of the stacking door and the hinged doors are a further specific feature, allowing an unproblematic opening and closing even when the water level is high.
No matter what the time of day - the building always looks interesting due to the translucence of the fibreglass material. Opening the stacking door is sufficient for smaller ships. The hinged doors come into operation if the entire width of the hall is necessitated.
