New Youth and Apprentice Representative Committee (JAV) at Butzbach

Starting the new year with fresh energy: Last year, our apprentices and dual-track students elected their new Youth and Apprentice Council (JAV). The new team—consisting of Maxim (Vice Chair), Pia (Secretary), and Noah (Chair)—is dedicated to addressing the concerns of our young employees.

The Youth and Apprentice Committee plays a significant role within the company: it represents the interests and rights of young employees and apprentices, while also serving as a key link to company management.

An overview of the JAV’s responsibilities:

  • Representing interests: The JAV advocates for the rights and interests of our young employees and trainees within the company. It serves as their point of contact and ensures that their concerns are taken into account in company decisions.
  • Monitoring compliance with laws and regulations: The JAV monitors compliance with legal provisions regarding youth protection, working hours, and other relevant topics. For example, it also checks whether training contracts are correct and whether the training is being conducted properly.
  • Advice and support: The JAV offers young people and apprentices support with workplace issues, whether they involve conflicts with trainers or colleagues or questions about rights and responsibilities during their apprenticeship.
  • Co-determination and participation: The JAV has the right to participate in decision-making on certain matters, such as the scheduling of working hours or issues related to health and safety in the workplace.
  • Promotion of training: It ensures that training at our company is well organized and advocates for the quality of training, for example by promoting continuing education opportunities or improving training conditions.
  • Cooperation with the works council: The JAV works closely with our works council to ensure that the interests of young employees are taken into account in decision-making.

 

The JAV also demonstrates its commitment through the organization of events: for example, the annual summer party and the Christmas party for our young employees are regular features of its program.
